Centiant provide telephony and contact centre services for a range of government departments.

Our cloud offering uses technology from our partners NFON and includes PBX functionality in a flexible cloud platform.
The NFON solution is a modular platform beginning with VoiP installation with the service being enhanced through integration with Skype.
Additional enhancements are offered by integration with a cloud contact centre delivered by Puzzel.

Secure Hosting, PaaS and IaaS

Centiant’s secure hosting environment is an alternative to public cloud for those departments with information requirements that are unsuited or undesirable to store externally.  Usage cases include:

  • Bulk or sensitive data
  • Disaster recovery
  • Reducing reliance on unassured internet while still taking advantage of the flexibility of cloud.
  • Removing ties to an office location, and allowing the office environment to move dynamically between buildings.  This avoids being tied to a single expensive
  • HQ location during transformation works.
  • Preserving legacy IT during transformation

Multiple datacentres are available, including deployable-containerised units to operate at the location of your choosing, and approved sites secured to appropriate government standards.

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

Provides secured or specialised virtual desktops that can be connected to from the general purpose, legacy, or Bring-You-Own-Device (BYOD).

In a general mode of operation, this can provide an access-ramp to cloud and on-premises IT equipment from existing devices, uplifting all to a common standard.  The graphical desktop is streamed to the end-user device from the cloud, so application CPU performance is based on server-grade private or public cloud resources assigned to the task.

Within government it can also optimise value for money by providing a secure bubble inside appropriate hosting into which legacy and un-controlled devices can remote.  This can:

  • Be used as a technical refresh to extend the lifespan of the previous generation of physical laptops and desktops without replacing them all.
  • Create separated environments for closed user groups, such as for training and development needs, or short term projects.
  • Limit expenditure on CPU or graphically intensive workloads by providing a central shared resource for use on-demand.  This can incorporate server-grade graphical acceleration cards to remove the need for expensive individual graphics cards that are only used a fraction of the time.
  • Retain end-user-device data inside higher security accommodation, reducing the security burden in diverse physical spaces, shared offices and on-the-road.
Internet Gateways and Access Networks

A Centiant managed firewall, intrusion prevention, and network management package to secure the boundary to the Internet.  This avoids reliance on a single Internet Service Provider.

Separating a managed gateway from the ISP allows the provision of Internet bearers to be competed, without undertaking a major change of infrastructure, taking advantage of reducing bandwidth costs and avoiding lock-in.

Where needed, access networks provide the tether point for Wi-Fi and on-premises services.  The service can also cater to the needs of duty-of-care to staff, minors and vulnerable adults.

Campus IT

Centiant’s Campus IT solutions combine secure wi-fi and teleworking with a hybrid of on-premises and cloud IT systems.  These are used for mission critical services, where reliance on the public cloud isn’t possible due to the potential for Internet disruption.  Such services are delivered to central government, defence and education.

Listed Buildings, Airports, and Special Location IT

Centiant have provided solutions for listed buildings, mines, physics laboratories, airports, deserts, and warzones, and have proven solutions to work in these areas.

Bespoke Services

Centiant provide bespoke IT deliveries and services to a wide range of central and local government organisations.  Our works focus on creating flexible and dynamic working environments through the use of wi-fi, virtualisation, and cloud enabling.  Trusted at the core of government, Centiant provide design, delivery, and a highly assured service wrap to ensure the services remain safe, secure and fit for purpose through-life.

Strategic Technology Transformation

Centiant’s enterprise architects can help at the concept stage where a fresh approach is needed.

Frequently governmental organisations are left with a tangle of poorly supported and costly legacy  infrastructure that is so ingrained that the optimal requirement can be daunting to put together.  Centiant can help with the concept of what is needed to replace them, and the business justifications for why they are needed.  To ensure value for money, this can be split for competition on multiple frameworks, for example competing for commodity end user devices on a Technology Products framework, while purchasing the networked core through a Network Services one.  This ensures best-of-breed.

Centiant have experience of demanding spaces like listed buildings, and through our works for the Science Technology Facilities Council, mines, particle accelerators and other extreme laboratory environments.  We have experience in catering for special requirements, such as malware labs, learning labs, virtual desktop infrastructure, and virtual learning environments.

Service Design

Centiant’s engineers design and integrate wi-fi, access network and computing infrastructure.

Where off-the-shelf services do not exist, Centiant’s engineers will customise IT services to your specification.  This provides an up-front discussion of what is needed, rather than relying on expensive changes and professional services later in the procurement cycle.

Implementation and On-boarding

Centiant will manage the build and migration of services from legacy to new.  This starts in our pre-staging facility whereby the system can be built, configured, and tested before delivery, including the staging of any data and applications that are not migrated to the cloud.

In parallel, infrastructure works on-site will have commenced to enable the integration of the new system into your environment.

Security Assurance and Accreditation

Centiant have a proven track record of delivering high assurance services, including works with the government protective marking system, defence and security.  We are familiar with the needs of security accreditation, including the authoring of RMADS and associated risk management documentation.

Centiant work at the heart of government and liaise with the national authorities on a daily basis to secure and assure our services.

The service can include assessment of cloud services against the NCSC cloud security principles and appropriate standards as an enabler to accreditation.

Enabling self-support

Centiant provide a range of support services through-life aimed at up-skilling and accompanying he customer’s frontline IT workers and power-users, and providing escalation support for 2nd, 3rd and 4th line response as needed.  This can include the authoring of Through Life Management Plans.

Project and Supply Chain Management

Centiant’s project managers will co-ordinate and collaborate between diverse stakeholders to bring IT services to fruition, assuring the delivery of the project to budget and time constraints.

Centiant can manage the supply chain of complex programme deliveries.

Private Cloud, Datacentres and Secure Hosting Environments

Where necessary, Centiant can host services in secure facilities assured to the highest government standards, and provide “hands-off” maintenance and support for the ultimate peace-of-mind.
