End User Devices

Centiant, working with our partner Centerprise, offer a wide range of end user devices and software from all leading manufactures including Dell, HP and Microsoft.

Virtualisation Virtual Desktop / Server

Technology moves on rapidly in the IT world. Thanks to improvements in software and increasing performance from Servers, Virtualisation desktop Environments are becoming more affordable and offer the same, if not improved, end-user experience as traditional environments.

One of the key advantages of the VDI is it allows legacy applications to be operated in a protected environment whilst allowing the rest of your IT solution to be the latest windows 10 standard.

Centiant’s solution is based on technology from industry leader VMWare. We have delivered many virtual environments in which legacy central applications, requiring access to Flash and/or older versions of Java, are loaded into a virtual machine operating on a Windows 7 environment. Users can simply access this legacy software in a contained and secure environment by clicking on an icon on their desktops.

Key benefits:

  •  Allows access to legacy systems in a safe and secure environment;
  • Reduces application development costs as legacy applications being replaced can operate alongside the new application during transition;
  • Reduces licences costs. VDI allows users to share licences for infrequently used programs;
  • Cost effective, dependent on the requirement, your existing hardware can support VDI rollout.
Consultancy

Public Sector IT is changing budgets being tighter than ever before. Security risks are increasing; however, users want the same open on the go experience as they have on their own systems. Centiant provide a wide range of technical solutions to meet these challenges, but where do you start? This is where our consultancy provision can help. One such service is our cloud transformation service.

Many Public sector organisations are looking to transition from a single service provider, delivering all services in a combined package to a smart sourced solution. This solution ensures only essential services continue on site with the remaining services being moved to the cloud. This sounds simple and it is a cost effective solution, but where do you start and how do you ensure that when the services from the single source supplier are decommissioned that the lights stay on and users can still operate?

Our cloud transformation service includes the performance of a comprehensive audit of all physical infrastructure and the services hosted internally and externally.
A report is produced recommending the most suitable methods to unpick services and in which order.

Additionally, if the service is ordered as part of one of our network solutions, we can provide a guided transition from the existing all in one service to your desired solution. This includes technical architects and engineers collaborating with customer staff before during and after transition. We can react rapidly during migration to resolve any issues or conflicts between suppliers. We will perform the role of both network provider and customer advisor acting as a technical bridge between you and the cloud provider.

Firewall and Security Products

Security is a key element of our business, with the MoD being amongst our most important customers. Our team is security cleared and all staff have significant experience in working within and developing secure infrastructure at a variety of governmental security tiers, including OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE.

One of our standard services is based on Technology from Sophos. We provide EAL4+ accredited unified threat solutions based on an on-premise firewall.

Physical Infrastructure, Modular Buildings, Cabling,Electrical & Mechanical

Centiant has wide experience working in the delivery of bespoke physical infrastructure, Data Centre refresh and modular / containerised Datacentres.
Physical infrastructure: Within a wider project we recently provided network cabling (copper and fibre), containment and electrical installation to many large military sites. This included over 100 buildings at RAF Cosford, connecting various classrooms and accommodation blocks tothe LEARN education network.
This allows students site wide access of training material and internet outside of normal learning environments.

Datacentre transformation: Working with a team of subcontractors Centiant offer datacentre design, manufacture, installation, support and refurbishment services including the provision of UPS, Cabinets, Electrical Distribution, cabling and Air Conditioning. We can provide traditional DC’s, modular buildings and containerised units. Additionally, we can perform refresh on existing datacentres to the latest standards. We have recently transformed a military datacentre from a dark, outdated, inefficient room into a modern bright environment ideal for IT equipment operation. We replaced existing lighting with efficient LED lighting ensuring uniformed and sufficient levels. We introduced new resilient Air Conditioning and replaced electrical infrastructure and flooring to meet latest DC standards.

Containerised Data Centres: Centiant works with its partner Cannonover a wide range of containerised and Modular data centre units. This includes transportable containers that provide a Fully BS EN 50173 / TIA-942 environment, common to traditional datacentres, but offer a deployable capability with rapid set up times.
These units are delivered as standard within ISO containers in various sizes and configurations. Standard configurable features result in customer’s being able to refine their systems to meet their specific requirements and capabilities equalling the internal standards of their static DC equivalents.
